Frieday morning a few friends and I went to the cabin for the weekend as I just needed to get away from it all for a few days...

While enjoying the time away, we checked out a few of the local guns shops in down in Southern MO to see what all they had and see if we could find any good deals on Ammo or any of the other goodies we like to pick up....

On the adventure I found my next shotgun...

I know some of you are Mossberg haters and I'm not trying to stoke the fire, but I found this on and really liked it...

I fondeled it for a few minutes checking the chanber, the feel in hand and against the shoulder, checked the trigger, sight picture... It felt right... Felt like a real solid gun, decent size and weight and I really like the way the ghost ring sight pic works...

I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I shoulder a shotgun or rifle and just know, this ones will work well for me...

I almost bought it, but I did not have the cash on hand and I told myself I will not put anything more on the credit cards unless it is a real emergency... But, I can see me picking one up later in the year, if they are still able to be got...

Anyone seen or used this model?

SPX is not new. was looking for one the last half of 2008. Decided on the FN SLP, but then canceled the order and stuck with pumps.

BUY IT.

You found one of the few SPX's left on store shelves, over at Gunbroker they're selling for 7-800 bucks.

I found mine this weekend at my local gun show, it was the only one for sale the entire weekend- and it's all mine! It's a freakin' beast too, those 8 shells can go mighty quick.

How is the action on that Mossy? My only Mossberg has a real loose foregrip/slides. It really keeps me from enjoying it.

The one I played with at the shop and my older 500 are both pretty tight feeling... Of course the one at the shop felt tighter than mine, but I'd have hoped so...

Mine had very slight movement right out of the box, after I cleaned it I screwed the mag cap on tighter and it took away any slop.

Everything else seems very tight, it ate 50-60 target loads in about 20minutes with no problems, nothing came loose.
